A complete silver probable mount, sexfoil in shape with a hollow back face and six rounded convex lobes surrounding a central circular lobe on the front face. There is a circle of pellets around the central lobe and smaller pellet circles around the bases of the outer lobes, on each lobe has there are six small circular dots surrounding a central one, traces of gilding also survive on the front face. This mount has no rivet holes or obviously surviving means of attachment indicating that it could potentially be unfinished or was to be attached via a solder. Dimensions: 14.1mm in diameter and 0.38g in weight.
No exact parallel could be found for this mount but copper alloy sexfoil mounts are known from the medieval and post medieval periods. The precious metal content of this object fulfils the requirements of the Treasure Act in that it is greater than 10 %.
