Incomplete cast iron key probably dating to the Post-Medieval period, (1500-1700). The object consists of a sub-square bit which is at a right angle to the shank. The bit has been divided into two wards with a lozenge shaped cleft in the centre. The bow has broken off with only a small fragment attached to the shank remaining. It has a dark blackish patina and shows signs of corrosion.
