Gold pin of unknown date; the pin is slightly bent. The shank is circular in cross-section at the tip, the shank of the pin has a more flattened cross-section. The diameter of the shank gradually declines, towards the point. The head of the pin is roughly square, formed by a flattening of the shank, with a concave impression on one face. This object has been examined, at the British Museum, by the Prehistoric, Roman, Iron Age, Medieval and Post-Medieval curators. It is the consensus that this object cannot be securely dated to a specific period. Due to the undiagnostic nature of the find it cannot be securely dated to pre-1710 and as such falls outside the provisions of the Treasure Act 1996.
