A medieval hammered silver penny of Edward I (1272-1307AD). This coin is from the 'new coinage' beginning in 1279AD with the non-voided long cross to the reverse. The obverse has the crowned bust facing with a rose on the chest and no double bar to the 'N', indicative of a class 7a thus further refining the date to 1290 - 1293AD. The reverse has the long cross pattée with three pellets in each angle.
