A complete cast copper alloy bar mount of medieval date. The mount consists of a central circular boss with a slightly off central circular hole and is decorated with a series of six incised lines. The boss is domed and hollow on the reverse. There are two lobes extending from each end of the central boss, both of which are undecorated. The reverse of the lobes have the remains of studs which would have attached the mount to the belt.
The metal is a dark greenish-brown colour and is slightly worn. The mount is 17.9mm long, 8.3mm wide, 4.8mm thick and weighs 1.4g.
Similar examples of this type of mount have been found in London and can be seen in Egan & Pritchard, p.214, no. 1160/1161.
A parallel is also recorded as DUR-6D3EA5.
