I have examined a silver object found at Mattishall, Norfolk. It is a silver mark of Frederik II, King of Denmark and Norway (1559-88), dated 1563 and weighing 7.21g (ref: Hede p. 11, no. 9).

Normally, single coins are only eligible to be considered as Treasure if they have been converted into jewellery. This piece survives in a worn and battered state, rendering it substantially underweight for the issue, but there is no sign that it has ever been used as jewellery. In my opinion, therefore, is does not constitute Treasure according to the terms of the Act.
