A cast copper alloy loop probably from a bucket or cauldron of Bronze Age date. It looks too rounded to be a loop from a socketed axehead. Also axeheads with loops were cast in one piece whereas this looks as if it had been soldered on. The loop is D-shaped in section and 6.74mm thick. The object is 23.74mm long and 18.94mm wide and weights 19g. It would have held a handle for the sheet copper alloy vessel.

cf Langmaid 1976, 'Bronze Age Metalwork in England and Wales', page 58, no. 24.
