Medieval copper alloy belt mount of the early 12th century. The mount has openwork decoration depicting a lion passant guardant. The object is in the style of a buckle plate, but there is no visible means of attachment for a buckle loop, so it seems its purpose was purely decorative.
There are four attachment holes in the corners, in one of which is a rivet. The object has a dark brown patina, with some green corrosion, is 31mm long, 22mm wide, 4mm thick and weighs 6.96g.
