Cast lead spindle whorl probably dating from the Roman to the Post-Medieval period, (43-1700). The object is circular in plan and biconical. It has a large central circular perforation. The object is very worn and no decoration is visible. It has a light brown patina.
Similar examples of spindle whorls have reportedly been found in contexts dated from the Roman through to the Post-Medieval period although the majority are typically dated broadly to the Medieval period c.1000-1500.
