An incomplete cast copper-alloy axe or palstave of Bronze Age date. Only the blade end survives, the remainder of the object now missing due to old breaks. It is triangular in profile with a crescentic blade that has some damage to the centre of the cutting edge. The blade projects slightly beyoned the sides of the axe, and both faces of the axe itself are flattened. There is no evidence for a socket in the surviving breaks and the size and flatness of the object suggest it could be either a socketed axe or a palstave. It measures 28.69mm in length, 46.01mm in width, 8.58mm in thickness, and weighs 42.72g. This object dates to the later Early Bronze Age or Middle Bronze Age periods, c.2000-1150 BC.
