Cast copper alloy livery button with a soldered wire circular loop on the back, and depicting a prancing horse, with its head down on a patch of ground, within a tressure of four arches, all in relief on the face.
Meredith & Cuddeford (1997) illustrate similar household livery buttons on page 26, Nos.4 & 5, which are dated to the Victorian period.
Bailey (1992) illustrates a livery button with a running greyhound that is similar in profile on page 20, No.84, which is dated to post 1810.
The recorder also found a livery button on the internet which was said to be made by Firmin & Sons of London, who were manufacturing many types of livery buttons at this time.
