Two lead alloy shot / balls, one of which is for musket and the other a small bored firearm (e.g. pistol). Both shots are sub spherical in shape with an uneven surface. The musket shot has a clear casting seam and the pistol ball shows both seam (which is offset) and evidence of a clipped and trimmed casting spur / sprue. The colour of the balls varies from a dark grey colour to a mid powdery cream / grey. Similar shot has been dated to the later post medieval period however the date range should extend into the early modern period as similar projectiles were used in firearms. Musket balls are discussed in Courtney's "Small Arms Accessories of the Mid-Seventeenth Century" (1988) and on page 202 of "Material Culture in London in an Age of Transition" by Geoff Egan (2005).
