One of two silver Medieval English groats, discovered a distance of 3-4 feet from one another. The coins are described by Julian Baker of the Heberden Coin Room, The Ashmolean Museum, as follows:

(1) AR Groat, Henry VI, First Reign, 1422-61, annulet issue 1422-7, Calais mint. Obv. Bust of Henry facing, annulets to left and right of neck. Rev. Long cross, annulets in two quarters of reverse. 26mm, 3.68g. Ref: Spink, Coins of England, no. 1836.

2) AR Groat, Henry IV, 1399-1413, light coinage 1412-3, London mint. Obv. Bust of Henry facing, annulet or pellet to left of crown. Rev. Long cross. 24-25mm, 3.18g. Spink, Coins of England, no. 1728.

Notes:

This coin was found in association with BERK-ADA244. These two coins, found close together and possibly deliberately hidden as a hoard or dropped or lost from the same purse, were declared Treasure under the 1996 Treasure Act by the Oxfordshire Coroner on 26th April 2010.
