Fragment of a Medieval or early Post-Medieval cast copper alloy object. A handle fragment from a cooking vessel such as a tripod, skillet or posnet. Dated circa AD 1400-1600. It consists of two thick pieces of copper alloy soldered together. One piece has a circular loop soldered onto the edge acting as a suspension loop? The other piece has a raised ring and dot decoration. The surface and edges of the object are very irregular and abraded, probably due to heat. There are traces of a dark green patina, however most of the object is covered by a light green corrosion product. Width 33.28mm, length 35.37mm, thickness 12.05mm, weight 26.7g. See SUR-025E45 on the database for a similar example.
