A Post Medieval cast copper alloy coin weight, probably early 17th century. A sqaure weight measuring between 16mm and 16.4mm wide. Both faces appear to have a design but both are covered in light green corrosion product. On one face a possible letter or Roman numeral 'V' can be made out. The other face has a design within a double circle. Judging by its weight (4.9g) and shape it may be for an angel or double crown of James I or Charles I. Square weights were replaced by round weights by Charles I in 1632. Thickness 3.8mm. The weight has black patina.
