A cast copper-alloy buckle with a hinged plate, dating to the 10-12th centuries.
The buckle frame is D-shaped, with a projecting, triangular outer frame with features of a zoomorphic face in relief. The back of the frame has backward projecting lugs that take the lugs of a sub-triangular zoomorphic plate. The hinge-pin is attached to the axle passing through the lugs of the buckle frame and place. The base of the pin also has decoration in relief suggestive of a zoomorphic/bird-like face, in with the tapering shaft of the pin is the beak.
The underside is undecorated.
