Medieval copper alloy sheet eyelet in sexfoil shape with central hole and seperate copper alloy rivets with roves. The petals are rounded, surrounding a raised central eye which has an off centre circular piercing; they are convex on the front and concave on the back. The outer edges are shaped to the petals. There are two rivets going through the centre of petals on opposite sides of the centre; the rivets are flush with the front. It is 13.8mm in diameter, 2.6mm thick exluding the rivets, 4.4mm including; it weighs 0.60 grams.
Egan and Pritchard (1993) illstrate very similar eyelets in situ on a strap (p.229) and suggest (p.228) that while most are from early 15th century contexts some examples are from the early 14th century.
