VESSEL

Unique ID: YORYM-32D796

Object type certainty: Certain
Workflow status: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation

A fragment of a vessel of Roman date. The fragment is the base of a Samian ware vessel. The base is circular in plan and convex which is a standard feature of such vessels. Only a small amount of the vessel proper remains with most having been broken off. The breaks are very worn. There appears to be a makers stamp on the internal surface of the vessel though this is difficult to identify.
The finder believes this example to be from either a Form 37 with curving sides or a Form 30 with vertical sides.
