Part of a copper-alloy strap-end of Late Medieval to early post-Medieval date.
The surviving piece represents the upper plate of the strap slot and is sub-rectangular in plan. The right- and left-hand sides have a 90 degree downward bend, there are two decorative transverse grooves at the closed end, and at the open end, the in situ remains of two corroded iron rivets. The remains of a flat-section terminal project from the closed end of the socket.
