A fragment of a copper alloy Roman brooch, probably a trumpet brooch dating from 75 - 175 AD. Only the head and a small part of the bow survives. A small part of the hinged copper alloy pin is also in place. This is attached to a copper alloy axis bar in a tubular housing behind the head. The edges of the wide trumpet shaped head are damaged. The bow is sub square in section and has broken before the acanthus button. The brooch has a length of 29.66mm, width 28.43mm, thickness 11.18mm, weight 13.81g.
