Unusual rim sherd of an unusual oxidised ware possibly a local Roman Samian ware copy with large inclusions perhaps 1st to 3rd centuryAD. Find recovered after Cumbrian floods the find is very abraded and unlikely to be associated with uncovered structures on the floodplain adjacent to and probably associated with a Roman fort. A series of structures are indicated. The length is 50mm, the width is 40mm, the thickness is 18mm and the weight is 20.71g.
