A medieval Scottish coin: a penny of Alexander III (1249-1286), second coinage, class B, dating from c.1280-86, probably of Berwick mint as the mullets have a total of 24 points. It is 18.9mm in diameter and 0.8mm thick. It weighs gm.1.33gm. Reference: Seaby (1984), No. 5052.
