A cast copper-alloy medieval buckle frame. The buckle frame is D-shaped, terminating in a collared knop. It is flat on the reverse and rounded on the front. The pin bar is slightly recessed and has a small groove where the pin rotated. File marks are evident across the extent of the frame. The pin and plate are both missing. Length 25.31 mm; width 16.77 mm; thickness 3.5 mm; weight 2.3 grams. An extremely similar example, complete with plate, is illustrated in Egan and Pritchard's Dress Accessories (1991), page 94, figure 59; 421, which was recovered from a context dated from 1350-1400. This buckle frame is likely to be of a similar date.
