A small, cast iron probable cannon ball dating from the Post Medieval period. The object would have been spherical, but corrosion is now distorting this slightly. It is closest to the bore size for a Serpentine cannon, but is rather lighter than the official weight. This may also be due to corrosion, or the ball may in fact be from a rolling mill. It probably dates from 1500 - 1800 AD.
