A fragment of a cast copper alloy chain of medieval to post-medieval date. The object is comprised of thirteen intertwined and one loose copper alloy chain links. Each of the chain links are of varying size and thickness and all are slightly curved in section. Of the thirteen intertwined links three are doubled up.
This object appears to be a fragment of a larger chain link object however due to the lack of any further contextual evidence it is difficult to ascertain an exact age or purpose, although it is probably medieval and possibly a fragment of chainmail.
