A cast copper alloy fragment from an unidentified object. The object is formed from an irregularly shaped plate of copper alloy. Neither surface of the plate is decorated or exhibits any diagnostic features. The metal is a dark brownish-green.
Notes:
These remains are coming from a site which is producing early-medieval cremation debris dating from the 5th - 7th Century. The finder has reported that no bone fragments or pottery sherds are evident within the plough soil.
