A cast copper alloy cock spur. The prick has an oval section and tapers to a blunt, broken point. The spur is integral to a sub-conical loop or ring, which would originally be fitted around the leg. The terminal rim has four circular perforations at even spaces (one perforation is incomplete). The loop is set perpendicular to the spur and is oval in plan. The surface of the cockspur has an mid grey/green patina. The cockspur measures 27.82mm long, 15.25mm wide and 16.32mm thick. It weighs 4.3g.
The cockspur is probably dated to the Medieval to early Post-Medieval periods considering the condition of the patina.
