FINGER RING

An incomplete cast copper alloy finger ring of Roman date. The bezel and shoulders are all that remain. The exterior of the bezel is hexagonal in plan with a recessed circular hole in the centre which would once have held a decorative stone.

The shoulders of the ring are wide and rectangular in plan and taper towards the bezel. The hoop no longer remains. The reverse of the ring is flat and undecorated.

The ring is 12.9mm long, 9.04mm wide, 3.9mm thick and weighs 1.3g. The metal is a mid brownish-green colour and survives in good condition.
