A corroded cast copper-alloy mount of post-medieval date (c. 17th century). The object takes the form of an elaborate quatrefoil, that is, one with rounded lobes in the angles. It is convex, with a domed centre. The apex is flattened with a central punch. On opposing sides of the lower surface are integral lugs, possibly sited at slight protrusions; one is bent upwards, the other curved round (max. H.: 11.35mm). The artefact has corroded to a red-brown metal over which is light-green and a yellowy corrosion product and traces of a grey patina. A parallel can be found illustrated in Read (2001, 34; ref. 280).
