An oval, smooth faced, lead object, possibly a ring bezel. The rounded surface bears the reversed scratched letters WVIE. The back is plain and rough and gives the appearance of having been set from molten within the hollow setting on a ring.
Notes:
This object appears to be a (possibly replacement) bezel for a large Roman finger ring. The letters do not however appear to make sense as a personal name or motto.
Inscription:
WVIE
