Lower part of one arm of a pair of Middle Saxon copper alloy tweezers. Below the break the sides are chamfered and near the centre there is a line of punched dots. Below this an engraved saltire between two horizontal pairs of transverse lines. The next part is undecorated although the sides are chamfered. Below another pair of transverse lines the wide expansion to the inturned blade is decorated with a cross formed from eight punched ring-and-dots. Length >32mm. Width at break 3.5mm, at blade 13.5mm. 8th - 9th century.
