A gold setting for a stone, rectangular with milled edges, hole in centre of base.

Discussion: This object is likely a stone setting of a finger-ring; the milled edges indicate that this setting is of 19th century construction.

Dimensions: length 10.3 mm; width 9.4 mm; thickness 3.1 mm; weight 0.6 grams.


The find dates to later than 1710 and as such falls outside the provisions of the Treasure Act 1996.
