A Medieval copper alloy two piece strap end of 1300-1400 AD date. The Front part of the strap end appears to have been cast in one piece and tapers to a moulded decorative terminal. The sheet back plate has been secured to the front by rivets; the upper most one still in situ and visible. There is evidence of incised decoration on the front part, although this is now very worn. The strap end is 44.1mm long, 12.3mm wide, 2.1mm thick and weighs 3.3 grams.
