A cast copper alloy late Anglo-Saxon stirrup strap mount of Williams Class A, Type 4, dating to the 11th Century. The mount is incomplete but what remains is sub-triangular and is symmetrical in design in the vertical plane and has two rivet holes at the base above the right-angled reverse flange. The design on the stirrup mount consists of joint spirals and scroll type designs and may have contained niello decoration. Cf. Williams (1997, 40; ref. 81); one of the more elaborate examples of this type with clear animal heads around the rivet holes.
