Cast copper alloy finger ring with a central sunken oval bezel, designed to hold a glass or stone intaglio. Some white residue remains inside the sunken bezel, which suggests a paste was used to fix the stone or glass in place. The frame of the ring has been squashed slightly post depositionally.
The bezel is 12mm wide, narrowing gradually to 3mm wide at the back of the frame.
This style of ring is typical of 1st to 2nd Century AD Roman styles. The ring is pitted but in generally good condition.
