This is a medieval copper alloy 'T' horse harness pendant mount circa 14th century. The mount has integrated rivets on the back surface, for fixing to the harness and a secondary rivet for suspending the pendant. These mounts were used to suspend heraldic and other pendants, typically from 1300 to 1450. The crossbar has a triangular section and the front face is decorated with diagonal groves, which may have been enamelled. The pendant suspension lugs has remnants of the iron rivet in the holes.
The surface is now a mottled dark/light green.
