A Roman copper alloy brooch. A composite plate brooch with a lozenge-shaped central panel. Either end of the central panel is a cross bar. One terminal is a crescent with dark coloured enamelling.  The other terminal is a zoomorphic head. The central lozenge contains  white enamelling (mostly lost). The brooch dates to circa 2nd century AD. It is 49mm long.
No exact parallels can be found in Hattatt. The closest type is no. 1125 on Fig. 66 of Hattatt, 1987 'Brooches of Antiquity'.
