A complete lead spindle whorl probably dating from the Early Medieval period onwards. It is a Coppergate type A1, with one flat face and one convex face. There is a circular central perforation with straight sides. The convex side is decorated with 4 raised blobs at the cardinal points. The spindle whorl has a light brown patina. It has a diameter of 28.39mm, thickness 9.10mm, weight 39.46g. For reference see page 25 of Walton Rogers (2007).
