This is a cast copper alloy post medieval asymmetrical buckle from the mid 17th century, consistent with Marshall’s type IIB. The buckle has a flattened ‘D’ section and an expanded pin rest. It is most probably a spur buckle.
The surface is now a mottled green/brown with a break in the lower cross member to the square end.
