Copper alloy 'Cocked-hat' hilt-guard from a sword, narrow profile with a shallow curve, rectangular-sectioned terminals, expanded centre with pointed oval perforation for tang. Length 52mm. Thickness of 6mm. Width at perforation 15mm tapering to pointed terminals, perforation 23 x 9mm. Cf. Savory (1976), fig.24, no.1. 1st century BC/AD
