A very worn and corroded cast copper-alloy suspension loop, probably from a purse bar of early Post-Medieval date. It is oval shaped in form, tapering at its base where there is perhaps a transverse collar with the remains of a possible integrally cast circular rivet on the bottom surface. Traces of a dark green/brown patina are present in places, but all surfaces are extremely worn and with evidence of copper-alloy corrosion. It measures 32.37mm in length, 14.53mm in maximum width, 3.98mm in thickness, and weighs 2.22g. This suspension loop is probably from a purse bar of early Post-Medieval date similar to examples noted from London (see LMMC pp. 162-169). It probably dates to the 16th century AD if not a little later.
