A complete cast copper alloy, gilded mount from the post-medieval period.
The object is formed form an openwork plate, featuring floral motifs. The front surface has been coated with gilding. The reverse is flat and undecorated. The remains of two attachment spikes can be seen on the reverse of the mount.
These mounts would have been used to decorate leather and date to the 17th – 18th Century.
