A cast copper alloy, teardrop headed, Roman button and loop fastener, dating from c. 50-150AD, Wild (1970) type 3. The shank and loop has broken away leaving only the head. It is a pointed tear drop shape with a raised boss in the centre, surrounded by a groove. It has a light green patina and is 19.7mm long, 17.6mm wide and 7.7mm thick. It weighs 6.39gm.
