Relatively crudely finished biface. Transverse flakes from the blade edge, and its asymmetric cross-section (one face flatter, one face more highly convex) support a Mesolithic date, and identification as a small tranchet axe. Black flint with large area of cortex on one long edge, and smaller areas of cortex on butt and on other long edge at butt end.
