CLOTH SEAL

Complete lead cloth seal, 23-24 mm in diameter. Disc 2 is stamped with a portcullis with four vertical bars ending in points, and three horizontal bars; there is a crown above and a chain to either side. The inscription around is indecipherable. Disc 1 apparently has no stamp. A county alnage (cloth tax) seal, but the name of the county can no longer be read.
