A possible Post Medieval to Modern copper-alloy skirt lifter or chatelaine dating to circa AD 1800-1900. 86 mm long. The handle is cylindrical, 3 mm in diameter, and at one end is a small sub-rectangular scoop measuring 7 x 13 mm. This is not set perfectly symmetrically on the handle and may be damaged. At the back of the scoop the bottom of the handle is decorated with a single transverse groove. At the top of the handle, one side has been cut away or hammered down to produce a flattened, slightly expanded area. This is now incomplete, having broken across a circular perforation; the surviving dimensions are 6 x 8 mm. The object has a matt brown patina and there are traces of faint longitudinal ridges or striations. Similar examples include SWYOR-23F084; SWYOR-23F084.
