Copper-alloy mount, probably from a box. Now bent, it would originally have measured about 90 mm long and for most of its length it is 10 mm wide. It is slightly convex on the upper surface and slightly hollowed on the reverse. Each end has a terminal, beginning perhaps with a transverse groove and ridge, then having an incurved cut-out, and then a very slightly widened rounded lobe (pierced for a rivet hole) ending in a long pointed knop. The mount is now corroded and worn so that all the surface detail has been lost; there may originally have been more surface decoration. It is now a dull brown colour.

A parallel was excavated from a context of 1230-1270 in London (Egan 1998, no. 147).
