WEIGHT

Unique ID: SF8519

Object type certainty: Possibly
Workflow status: Published Find published

Two thick circular copper-alloy discs, well made with right-angled corners and smooth surfaces. One is 19 mm in diameter and 6 mm thick; it weighs 14.2g (0.5 oz). The other is 15.5 mm in diameter and 5.5 mm thick; it weighs 8.76g (0.31 oz). There is no decoration and no official stamps on either of the discs and so the identification as weights must be tentative; the weight of the larger one at exactly 0.5 oz may be coincidental.
