A fragment of gilded copper-alloy with relief decoration in Salin's Style I, probably a knob from a florid cruciform brooch. The fragment is sub-rectangular and flat, the short sides flaring slightly from the break to the original edge. It measures 28mm in length and 17mm in width at its widest point. It has a small rectangular hole close to the edge.

It is hard to decode the decoration, but it is similar to that on LIN-88A451. It has two rounded pellets which probably represent the eyes of a human mask. Two curved brows are above, and a nose in the centre below; oddly there is also a narrow band crossing the top of the nose. From the bottom of the nose issue two profile predatory birds' heads, which are worn and unclear on this example but clearer on LIN-88A451. They have eyes in oval frames and curled beaks, and the backs of their necks form the original edge of the object.

The reverse is undecorated. The object probably dates to the late 5th or 6th centuries AD.
