Cast copper-alloy book clasp loop. The loop is sub-circular, with upper extensions which are pierced to hold the copper-alloy axis bar for the missing plate. The loop has a central hole (internal diameter: 3.5mm) and the reverse is flat; it terminates in a small loop now incomplete, but in the form of a stylised animal head. Smooth dark grey patina. Similar to examples from London (Egan 1998, 278 nos. 919-25)
